Security (Full-Time) - Wesley Willows Campus

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Shift: 3rd - 10:00 pm to 6:30 am; Shift Differential Available
Location: Wesley Willows Campus - Rockford, IL
Direct Reports: N/A

Summary:

Responsible for maintaining a safe environment for all residents by performing routine security checks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform security checks on all exterior doors (Willows Arbor, Health Center, Personal Care, Town Center, Willows Suites) as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform temperature checks in boiler rooms and kitchens.
  • Remove all resident trash located in the hallways.
  • Remove trash from Willow Suites trash chute.
  • Remove cardboard from hallways and resident storage areas in Willow Suites.
  • Perform security rounds of all buildings and campus.
  • Note any garage doors that are left open, post lights that are not lit, and any suspicious activity involving unidentified people and vehicles.
  • Take immediate action when suspicious activity is observed by questioning individuals or calling the police as needed.
  • Empty soiled linen bins and trash bins in the Health Center.
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Assist with resident relations program; handle all resident concerns promptly.
  • Keep the Maintenance Supervisor informed of all resident issues.
  • Assist with company event setups and take-downs.
  • Complete all special projects/assignments as required by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:

  • High school graduate or equivalent;
  • A minimum of one (1) year of general building maintenance, with basic knowledge of heating and cooling systems, is required. Two (2) years preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.
  • Must be able to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sustain a workload consistently of exerting 10 to 25 pounds
  • Frequently (occurring 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to move soiled linen and trash bins.
  • Good mobility is necessary to perform security checks on all buildings and grounds.

Other regulated requirements:

  • Must be willing to undergo pre-employment background check, including (MVR) moving vehicle records.
  • Must have or be willing to receive the Flu-Shot Vaccine and TB testing.
  • Must be willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening, including cannabis.
  • Must be willing to undergo biometric screening.
